Forward Wayne Simmonds shared in the last few minutes that he's retiring from professional hockey.

Without a contract this season, I asked about his playing future:
"I haven't officially announced my retirement, but I'm done. I had a great career. It was the best time I've ever had in my life. Right now, it's family time.""

Simmonds played 1,037 games in the #NHL with Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, New Jersey, Buffalo and Toronto from 2008-2023, scoring 263 goals and 526 points in that span.
He also played with Eispiraten Crimmitschau (DEL2) 🇩🇪 and Bili Tygri Liberec (ELH) 🇨🇿 in his professional career.
He played 18 games with the Canadian National Team at the IIHF World Championship, scoring one goal and three points in that span, and winning a Silver Medal 🥈🇨🇦
He was drafted 61st overall by Los Angeles in 2007."
