It appears some NHL owners aren't happy with the proposed divisional realignment that had been leaked on the internet and changes should be expected. Earlier this week, TSN Insider Pierre LeBrun tweeted that divisions for the upcoming season would look like this:

However, LeBrun is now reporting that some owners expressed frustration with the new divisions in a conference call earlier this week and changes are likely.

"We warned everyone that the realignment plan the NHL shared with governors on the call Wednesday was subject to change, and that's exactly what appears to be happening," said LeBrun. "Sources confirm the NHL is looking to make a few tweaks to those divisions again."

"As colleague [Michael Russo] reported, Minnesota could swap again. Also hear Dallas is a possibility. Could be a few other tweaks. Clearly some governors on Wednesday's call who weren't pleased with the temporary divisions as presented. So stay tuned."

One good thing to come out of this is that it looks like the proposed all-Canadian division will be staying in place. The NHL really doesn't have much choice as restrictions would make it extremely difficult to have teams crossing the border at either end.
