Bruins reportedly in the process of working out fan attendance limits at TD Garden

With the league targeting a January 13th start date for the 2020-21 season, teams have begun to work on the logistics of prepping for a new campaign, including setting deadlines to summon players back for camp, putting enhanced safety measures in place and seeking approval for fan attendance. Count the Boston Bruins among those having pre-emptively sought such approval.

Per Bruins Correspondent Shawn Hutcheon, Massachusetts State governor Baker attended TD Garden last week to view the site after the team requested permission to allow as many as 7500 fans to attend home games this season.

Fan attendance in arenas will undoubtedly vary on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the COVID-19 numbers in each of the NHL cities, but all possibilities to draw any revenues whatsoever will be considered, so long as the safety of the players, personnel and fans is attainable.

At this stage, we do not yet know how the divisions will look, though there has been a lot of speculation on an all-Canadian division, reducing cross-border travel as much as absolutely possible, likely placing the Bruins and a handful of other Atlantic Division teams in a blender with the Metro Division and possibly even the Central Division to determine where everyone will play in 2020-21.

There are still plenty of unknowns at this stage, but all questions will have an answer in due time.
