Golden Knights sign NCAA leading scorer
Vegas Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced on Thursday that the team has signed forward Jack Dugan to a two-year, entry-level deal.
Dugan, 22, had an incredible sophomore season for Providence College, putting up 10 goals and a league leading 52 points in just 34 games. This was a massive improvement off of his freshman season, in which he had 39 points in 41 games. The Rochester, New York native became just the eighth player in Providence College history to be named as a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which is given out annually to the league's best player.
Dugan was drafted by the Golden Knights in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, he spent one season with the Chicago Steel in the USHL, where he put up 31 goals and 66 points in 54 games before moving on to Providence. With the big 2019-20 season, he has become an extremely exciting prospect.
