The Chicago Blackhawks had themselves a big Thursday, signing three players to contracts, general manager Stan Bowman announced.

The team has agreed to terms with 21-year-old Ian Mitchell on a three-year, entry-level deal. The University of Denver defenceman had 10 goals and 32 points in 36 games this past season, his third spent with the team. In 116 combined games, he put up 18 goals and 89 points. The Calahoo, Alberta native was taken in the second round (57th overall) at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

They also agreed to terms with forward Pius Suter on a one-year contract that will pay him $925,000. The 24-year-old has spent the last five seasons playing for Zurich SC of Switzerland's National League-A. The 2019-20 season was his best to date, as he put up a career high 30 goals and 53 points in just 50 games. His 30 goals led the league in scoring.

Last but not least, the team agreed to terms with Wyatt Kalynuk on a two-year contract that also carries a $925,000 cap hit. The 23-year-old defenceman has spent the last three seasons playing for the University of Wisconsin. This past season was his best to date, as the team captain had seven goals and 21 assists in 36 games. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round (196 overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
