Dmytro Timashov has another new home. The Detroit Red Wings have announced they have traded the 24-year-old winger to the New York Islanders. The return is officially listed as future considerations.

Timashov is a former draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs (125th overall in 2015). After close to four seasons with Toronto, where he spent most of his time with the Marlies of the AHL, Timashov was placed on waivers in February of this year and picked up by the Detroit Red Wings. He had asked to be moved in order to get more ice time in the NHL. He played five games with Detroit before the season was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Timashov was born in Ukraine but grew up in Sweden. It was his Swedish step-father who introduced him to hockey at the age of eight.

Timashov has a total of 44 NHL games under his belt, with four goals and five assists for nine points.
