Sens owner Eugene Melnyk announces the launch of his personal website

Early on Friday, Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk took to Twitter to announce the launching of his own personal website, eugenemelnyk.com

Melnyk, who is the most known owner throughout the league for mostly the wrong reasons, says the website will be a personal space for him to share his thoughts and ideas with fans on a variety of subjects, most notably sports and business.

It will be interesting to see how this goes, given that there is a lot of animosity held towards Melnyk, particularly by Senators fans. The 61-year-old has rubbed many in the hockey community the wrong way with some of his past trades and his perceived gutting of the team rather than paying top talent top dollars. There have also been several lawsuits that he has filed and has had filed against him.

Melnyk has recently been in the news for saying that the Senators will win a Stanley Cup within four seasons, as well as stating no team has ever done a rebuild like the Senators are currently. While the future does look bright for this team, a four-year window is a pretty short amount of time given how young the team is, along with the fact that they will more than likely miss the playoffs all together for the 2020-21 season. Regardless of all that, this website is sure to provide some entertainment.
