Alexis Lafreniere is the subject of some of the hottest and most valuable newer hockey cards to hit the market this year. Some are getting as much as $10,000 for a high gloss version of Upper Deck's 2020-21 Young Guns Lafreniere card. With that, of course, comes scammers looking to try and make a buck.

According to The International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament of Quebec, they've discovered cards being sold on eBay featuring the tournament's logo of a young Lafreniere. The cards in question look like this:

"The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament has never produced an Alexis Lafrenière card," the organization said in a news release. "As soon as we discovered the scheme, we contacted the SPVQ (Quebec police), which takes the situation very seriously. We invite the public to be extremely careful. The fact that Alexis Lafrenière was the first choice of the New York Rangers in the draft in 2020 probably prompts some people to want to take advantage of the situation."

The organization said management regularly monitors the various resale sites to ensure that the cards or other items sold with the tournament logo are authentic. It's how this specific card, and others like it, was discovered.
