Zach Parise has been been a household name in the National Hockey League for much of the last 15 years, but the soon-to-be 36-year-old knows that his opportunities to win a Stanley Cup are fleeting.

Despite having nearly 100 games of playoff experience under his belt, Parise has only been to the Stanley Cup finals once in his career, during the 2011-12 season, when he and the New Jersey Devils lost in six games to the Los Angeles Kings. 8 years later, he's looking for another shot at glory.

"Regardless of the situation and how these playoffs are taking shape, I look at myself too, you're running out of chances. In the back of guys' minds, we're an older team; we've got guys in the early and mid-30s. You don't get these [chances] all the time."

The Wild have no shortage of veteran leadership and after making some moves to acquire some younger, skilled forwards in the form of Ryan Donato and Kevin Fiala, Parise is hopeful that his team can clutch up and steal a cup in a new, unorthodox format.

"We're still playing in the playoffs, still playing for the Stanley Cup," Parise said. "Outside of Eric (Staal, who won a championship with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006), none of us have won. We have to lead the way and be a part of the success in the playoffs."

The Wild have drawn the 7th seed Vancouver Canucks in a best-of-five series to advance to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
