It goes without saying that it would be a breath of fresh air to have best-on-best hockey return at the Olympics, potentially beginning in 2022, but what might a Team Canada look like at that time? Well, according to Sportsnet, it could look something like this.
Of course, this list is completely subjective. There are a multitude of Canadian players who you could definitely make an argument for, with regard to inclusion on the Olympic team in 2022, but for all intents and purposes, this list looks like it may be pretty close to what we might see in terms of on-ice personnel.
Some notable omissions are Marc-Andre Fleury, who will be 37 and well past his prime in 2022, Brent Burns, Shea Weber, Taylor Hall, Logan Couture and Jonathan Toews.
