Flyers' Lindblom completes cancer treatment
During what is a pretty dark time in the world, we got some good news today as it was announced that Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom has completed his cancer treatment.
The 23-year-old Finnish player was diagnosed in December with Ewing's sarcoma, which is a rare form of cancer that occurs in bones or in the soft tissue around the bones. It was devastating news not only for Lindblom and the Flyers but the entire hockey community. Prior to being diagnosed, the left-winger was having a breakout season with 11 goals and 18 points in 30 games. At the time, his eleven goals were tied for the team lead.
It is great news to hear that Lindblom is finished with his treatment and can now hopefully look towards making a return to hockey. As of now, there has been no return date announced for him as it is likely an unknown at this point. However, the most important thing is that he is healthy and that appears to be the case.
