Despite posting solid numbers this season (.907 save percentage, 2.44 GAA with one shutout), Alexander Sharychenkov of CSKA has officially been released by the team.

His record may leave much to be desired, but at 6-foot-4 and 207 pounds, the 32-year old has the size to be one of the best goaltenders in the league, and his release has come as a major shock.
It's unclear exact what the reason behind this release is, as his play on the ice hasn't been dreadful, but with the size and the KHL experience behind him, there's certainly a team out there that will relish the opportunity to land the giant goaltender.
