"For the first time in more than a month, sounds like Vegas is no longer a frontrunner to host an NHL hub city. Spike in COVID-19 numbers in Vegas appears to have put a damper on their bid," Seravalli said. As [TSN's] Bob McKenzie
reported, very possible both hubs cities are in Canada."
As Vancouver has withdrawn its bid to be a hub city, the only two Canadian locations left in the running are Toronto and Edmonton.
Just three days ago, Nevada reported its largest one day increase in positive tests for COVID-19 with 1099, more than double its previous high. There have been close to 18,000 cases of the disease since the outbreak stated and more than 500 deaths.
"As usual, It's been difficult to be definitive on any reporting with regard to hub cities and return to play," added Seravalli. "It's all been fluid. But that's the way the wind has been blowing today."
