Former NHL coach Jacques Martin hired by OHL team in advisory role
After sitting on the sidelines during the 2021-22 season, former NHL coach Jacques Martin in back in the game.
On Friday, the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League announced that they've hired Martin in a Senior Advisory role effective immediately.
Martin, 69, had been coaching in the NHL either as an assistant or head coach from 1986 until he was let go by the New York Rangers following the 2020-21 season.
During his time in the National Hockey League, Martin was a head coach for the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens.
He has also spent time as an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks, Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers. Martin helped the Penguins win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.
