Blues sign 325-game NHL veteran to professional tryout contract
With hockey season right around the corner, teams are beginning to invite unrestricted free agents to training camp on professional tryout contracts.
On Thursday, the St. Louis Blues announced that they've signed unrestricted free agent forward Tyler Pitlick to a professional tryout contract and said that he will join the team later this month in preparation for training camp.
Pitlick, 30, was selected in the second round (31st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He's spent parts of eight seasons in the National Hockey League with Edmonton, Dallas, Philadelphia, Arizona, Calgary and Montreal.
In 325 career games, the Minneapolis native has recorded 89 points (48 goals, 41 assists), 84 penalty minutes and is a plus-one. Pitlick has also appeared in 22 career playoff games, six with Dallas in 2018-19 and sixteen with Philadelphia in 2019-20.
