Colorado Avalanche: ranking the top-ten prospects in their system

With rookie tournaments around the National Hockey League getting underway in less than four weeks, it's time to take a look at the top-ten prospects on each of the 32 teams.

Multiple different sources use different criteria for their rankings as to what players classify as a prospect. For my lists over the next couple of weeks, I will be using Corey Pronman's guide from 2019, as that's the most updated I could find. For Pronman's guide, he uses the following two requirements:

- A player is considered a prospect if: he has played less than 25 games in one campaign.

- Less than 50 games total in their career.

Next team up is the Colorado Avalanche. Let's take a look at the ten best prospects in their system, starting with number ten and counting down to number one.

10. Matthew Stienburg (C) - Drafted: 2019 (3/63).

6. Jean-Luc Foudy (C) - Drafted: 2020 (3/75).

2021-22 stats: Colorado Eagles (AHL) - 65 GP - 9 G - 17 A - 26 PTS.

5. Martin Kaut (RW) - Drafted: 2018 (1/16).

2021-22 stats: Colorado (NHL) - 6 GP - 0 G - 0 A - 0 PTS/Colorado Eagles (AHL) - 46 GP - 19 G - 12 A - 31 PTS.

4. Sampo Ranta (LW) - Drafted: 2018 (3/78).

3. Sean Behrens (D) - Drafted: 2021 (2/61).

2. Justus Annunen (G) - Drafted: 2018 (3/64).

2021-22 stats: Colorado (NHL) - 2 GP - 1 W - 0 L - 1 OTL, 4.34 GAA, .863 save percentage/Colorado Eagles (AHL) - 48 GP - 24 W - 13 L - 6 OTL, 3.01 GAA, .893 save percentage, 2 SO.
