Da Beauty League is a summer league for professional hockey players held in Minnesota each year during the NHL's offseason. 'Quazi Commissioner' John Scott -- yes, the former NHL enforcer -- helped start the league in 2015, and each summer they sell tickets and merch for the purpose of donating the proceeds to various hockey-related non-profit organizations.

The ulterior purpose is to give NHLers and other high-level hockey players from the area a competitive but fun environment to keep their skills sharp and prepare for the next NHL season. As such, games tend to be on the lighter side and usually feature lots of goals, as I doubt any one is in a rush to dive in front of shots or sacrifice the body in any way.

Apparently nobody told Teddy Blueger and Vinni Lettieri this, as the two dropped the mitts and threw down late in a 12-3 hockey game, leaving the latter badly bloodied:

According to various accounts, Lettieri took exception when Blueger scored his fourth goal (and seventh point) of the game to make it 12-3 and challenged him to fisticuffs. Blueger clearly didn't have any issues, as he beat the tar out of the Anaheim Duck.

Typically, these guys don't place a ton of stock in these matches, but the heat of competition and the pride with which these guys play never takes a day off, and when you are pumping a team for 12 goals, they will probably not take it well. In any event, Blueger currently holds the DBL belt. I wonder if anyone challenges him for it the rest of the summer...
