The Colorado Avalanche are about to receive a substantial boost in the offense department in the form of right winger Mikko Rantanen, as the 23-year-old Fin returns to the lineup this evening.
Rantanen suffered a devastating lower body injury over one month ago when his skate got caught on the ice causing his left ankle to twist. It was a cringe-worthy injury. See it here:

Prior to his injury, Rantanen recorded 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points in 9 games.
The Avalanche currently sit 3rd in the central division and 9th overall with a 15-8-2 record. As they inch closer to a healthy lineup, expect the Avs to assume one of the top spots in the West and, quite possibly, the League going forward.
