After finishing the 2018-19 season sitting atop the western conference, the Calgary Flames are currently holding a record of 11-12-3, and were in the midst of a six game losing streak until they beat Philadelphia Saturday 3-2 in a shoot out.

After finishing their last ten games with a record of 3-6-1 before Saturday, including suffering multiple shutouts at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights and more recently against last year's Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues, the team has held a players only meeting.

Flames Captain Mark Giordano says the meeting brought out a lot of honesty among the players. The team was also commended for ‘talking it out' by head coach Bill Peters, who has been preaching accountability to his team following their struggles since the start of the 19-20 season.

Brad Treliving, General Manager of the Flames organization also addressed the media regarding the teams recent skid.

Treliving stated that the blame falls on directly on him, stating “It starts with the manager. The manager has been horseshit.” He also stated that he, as the manager, has “underperformed” and he takes responsibility for the performance of his team.

The Flames GM also made it clear that they know they aren't performing well right now, but his coaching staff and top players “aren't going anywhere.”

Treliving, who seemed somewhat hopeful amidst the controversy surrounding his team, noted that now is the time to “dig in” and turn the season around even though the outside world wants to “count them out.”
