Jamie McGinn has been released from his professional tryout with the St. Louis Blues. The team made the announcement Wednesday. McGinn did not take part in any games with the blues during his PTO that was signed on November 11th.

McGinn, 31, was originally selected by the San Jose Sharks in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft. He is a veteran of 11 NHL seasons, including stints with San Jose, Colorado, Buffalo, Anaheim, Arizona and Florida, McGinn has put up 220 points in 617 career regular-season games.

McGinn had been on a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, but asked to be released after playing two games. Shortly after, he signed the tryout with the Blues.

Troy Brouwer, who signed a PTO with St. Louis at the same time as McGinn, remains with the team. He has not yet taken part in any games with the team either.
