On October 26, 1990 Wayne Gretzky further cemented himself as the greatest hockey player ever.
The LA Kings faced off against the Winnipeg Jets, and although it was a losing effort by the Kings, it was also one of the most historic moments in NHL history. This was the night that saw 'The Great One' record his 2000th career point. He achieved the milestone by getting the secondary assist on a goal by Tomas Sandstrom, late in the first period.
He is still the only player ever to reach this milestone, and it is very likely that he will be the only player to ever do it. To make this stat even more insane, it only took Gretzky 857 games to reach 2000 points!
