Ahead of tonight's game between Montreal and Toronto, Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock was still fielding questions on the Brenden Dillon hit on Auston Matthews from the previous night's game against San Jose. In this particular instance, Babcock was asked whether he was happy with his team's composure or whether someone should have jumped to Matthews' defense following the hit. Babcock's response was short and sweet. He asked the reporter "who's gonna do that?" You can check out the question and response below.

Babcock's response seems to indicate he doesn't have anyone on Toronto that could have stepped up to defend Matthews, even if that's what he would have preferred. Toronto is certainly gifted in the offensive department, but many analysts have stated that the team could use one or two "greasy" forwards, someone who can step up when something like this occurs. Based on how Babcock answered the question, it seems he may agree.
Matthews was sent back to the dressing room following the 2nd period hit to be monitored for signs of a concussion. He returned in the 3rd. The NHL has already announced there will be no supplementary discipline. If you haven't seen the hit yet, you can view it below.
