According to TSN Insider Bob McKenzie, the Chicago Blackhawks are trying to find a suitable trade partner for forward Brendan Perlini. While appearing on Insider Trading, McKenzie stated that Perlini wants more ice time and that isn't likely to in Chicago.
"He's not been able to establish himself in Chicago and he's only played one game so far this year, played less than eight minutes," stated McKenzie. "So [agent Darren] Ferris and the Hawks have agreed they're going to try and find a new home for him. Something to keep an eye on."
Perlini was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round (12th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. In November of 2018, Perlini and Dylan Strome were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Nick Schmaltz. The 23-year-old, who was born in the U.K., has 72 points in 200 NHL games so far, including 45 goals.
In September of this year, the Blackhawks re-signed Perlini to a one-year, $874,125 contract extension. He will still be a restricted free agent once his current deal runs out.
