The Växjö Lakers Hockey Club, a team from the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), has faced troubles both on and off the ice since the start of the season. Falling to 12th place after 12 games, their season isn't off to the hot start the club was surely hoping for.

Tuesday was an especially tough day, even off the ice, as issues regarding the teams social media accounts began to surface. Fans of the club were surprised to learn that the Växjö Lakers twitter account had been suspended. When fans attempted to view their favorite hockey clubs social media site they were met with a message that read "The account is temporarily suspended. Twitter temporarily suspends accounts that violate Twitter's rules."

Since the suspension notice originally surfaced, the reasoning behind it has come to light, making the story all the more interesting. Who, do we come to find out, is behind the social media suspension? One of the worlds biggest hip hop artists and no stranger to controversial media, Kanye West.

One of Växjö's other social media reference pages (@vlhlive) on twitter released a statement with a bit more detail. As it were, an old video on the Lakers page featured Kanye West's music. Since being discovered and suspended, Twitter has contacted the Swedish hockey club and requested the clip featuring West's music be removed. According to @vlhlive, the clip is being removed and they're hoping to have the account back as soon as possible.

Translation: Right now [our Twitter account] is down because Kanye West's music was used in an old video. Twitter has been contacted and we hope to get our account back as soon as possible. For now, we refer you here
