McCarron suspended for dirty hit

Micheal McCarron, of the AHL's Laval Rocket, has been suspended for two games following a nasty hit on Brendan Gaunce of Providence over the weekend. The hit--which left Gaunce with a concussion, a broken nose and needing a stretcher to get off the ice--can be viewed below.

This isn't McCarron's first suspension at the AHL level. He was suspended for two games in 2016 after another incident against the Providence Bruins, where he headbutted Justin Hickman in an end-of-game fight.

McCarron to miss Wednesday's game against the Belleville Senators, as well as Friday's game against the Hartford Wolfpack. He'll return to the lineup against, interestingly enough, the Providence Bruins this coming weekend.
