Just over a week after being signed to a PTO, the Belleville Senators have made the decision to release Griffin Reinhart.

This may have been Reinhart's final shot to play professional hockey in North America. Unfortunately for the former first round pick, the game has evolved into much more of a speed and skill game, and he was unable to elevate his game to another level.

Being selected 4th overall in the 2012 NHL entry draft and only playing 37 games, it looks like Reinhart will go down as one of the biggest busts in recent memory. Some notable players that were selected after Reinhart include, Morgan Reilly, Jacob Truba, Filip Forsberg, Tom Wilson, and Teuvo Teravainen.

It's tough to predict where the 25 year old will go from here, he could possibly land a spot in the ECHL or overseas, or maybe he will decide to hang the skates up and turn his attention to a new career path. Whatever Reinhart decides to do, we wish him the best of luck moving forward.
