The Calgary Flames are taking care of some front office business on Thursday. The club has announced that GM Brad Treliving has been signed to a multi-year deal to remain in Calgary.

Treliving is entering his 6th season with the Flames in a GM capacity, after being appointed to the position on April 28, 2014.

The Flames put together one hell of a season in '18/'19 and the acquisitions made by Treliving are a huge reason for the team's success. The 107 point season that the Flames enjoyed last year was the second highest total in franchise history.

"Thank you to the Flames ownership group, John Bean and Ken King for their confidence and continued support," said Treliving. "I'm excited to work with our talented hockey operations staff, coaches and players as we continue on our mission of bringing a Stanley Cup back to Calgary."

Before joining the Flames organization, Treliving was the Vice President of Hockey Operations & Assistant General Manager with the Coyotes for seven seasons.

His signing comes at a very important time for the Flames, as his current contract expires at the end of this season. The new contract is believed to be 3-years in length and will take effect for the 2020-2021 season.
