Roberto Luongo may be officially retired from the NHL, but his Twitter game is still on point. Luongo, who spent eight seasons between the pipes for the Vancouver Canucks, had an amusing response on Twitter to the team's announcement that a new captain would be named at their home opener on Wednesday, October 9th.

For those unaware, Luongo was, for all intents and purposes, the captain of Vancouver for several of the eight seasons he spent there. However, it could not be official, as the NHL does not allow goalies to wear the "C". Tuesday night, the Canucks tweeted a picture showing former captains of the team, including Stan Smyl, Trevor Linden, Henrik Sedin, and Markus Näslund. Not to be outdone, Luongo replied to the Tweet, with a photo-shopped version of the image with himself inserted.

We are definitely happy that Luongo decided not to give up his entertaining Twitter antics when he hung up the pads.
