The Detroit Red Wings are hoping for good news after Dylan Larkin left practice early Tuesday. According to the Detroit Free Press, Larkin went down along the boards after trying to avoid contact with Darren Helm about halfway through the 90-minute practice.
"He kind of curled up with the puck and just kind of at the same time, he almost ran into Helmer," said coach Jeff Blashill. "And then kind of went into the wall a little bit.
Blashill says the fall didn't look bad, but the team won't make any decisions until Larkin is evaluated by doctors and trainers.
"We'll wait for the doctor's reports and see where everything is at."
The Wings have some time should Larkin need it. They don't open the season until Saturday at Nashville. Larkin led the team with 32 goals and 41 assists last season.
