Penguins Head Coach, Mike Sullivan has confirmed on Tuesday that Bryan Rust will begin the season on the Injured Reserve.

The Penguins are a little banged up at the moment with Alex Galchenyuk and Sidney Crosby both listed as day-to-day. Crosby is expected to be ready to go on October 3rd when the Pens host the Sabres for their season opener, but Galchenyuk's status is less certain. Galchenyuk is expected to attend practice tomorrow, with an update on his status to follow.

With Rust being unable to suit up for the foreseeable future, we are sure to see Mike Sullivan shuffle the lineup a little bit to make due. Dominik Kahun will slot into Rust's spot on the third line with Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann, while Zach Aston-Reese will open the season on the 4th line with Teddy Blueger and Dominik Simon.
