NHL investigating Evander Kane for allegedly breaching COVID protocols
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the National Hockey League has opened a new investigation against San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane for allegedly breaching their COVID-19 protocol.
"The second investigation involves a possible violation of NHL COVID protocols. The details of any possible violation being investigated are unknown at this time," Friedman said.
He went on to add, "Kane did not respond to multiple requests for comment on the investigations. A representative for Kane's attorney said there would be no comment. The NHL, NHLPA and San Jose Sharks also declined to comment."
The NHL cleared Kane last week for allegations that he bet on his own games. Including the COVID-19 protocol investigation, the league also has a second one opened that is looking into allegations that he sexually assaulted his estranged wife, Anna.
