Hockey legend Jaromir Jagr is not a happy camper after a terrible hit in a Czech Extraliga preseason game may lead to him missing the first part of his 32nd season playing professional hockey.

"I'm not feeling good," the 49-year-old said in an interview following the game. "I don't know if I can recover before the season opener. I'm going to see a physiotherapist and then I'll see."

Jagr, who indicated his shoulder is the issue after the hit, said it never should have happened the way it did.

"It's a shame that players don't respect one another. Of course hockey is a tough sport and it should stay this way cause it's more popular and fun for the fans," said Jagr. "On the other hand the players need to realise that dangerous plays might happen, just like the one that affected me. If a player is facing the boards and is so close to it you can't just hit him like that. It's very dangerous."

Here's the hit in question. There's a slow-motion replay close to the end of the video. Jagr is pushed into the boards headfirst while battling another player for the puck. His teammates stuck up for him after the hit, with a scrum breaking out behind the opponent's net. Jagr did not return to the game after. Let's hope he recovers as quickly as possible.
