Amid seven game pointless streak, Laine gets blunt when asked about his confidence

No one on the Columbus Blue Jackets is doing that well right now, but it's much more noticeable when you're supposed to be the star player of course. For Patrik Laine, who has gone seven games without a point, it appears his slump is starting to get to him. Asked about his confidence level currently by reporters, Laine was very blunt.

«Probably closer to zero," said Laine.

His current pointless streak matches a career high for the Finnish sniper. Asked whether he felt he was fitting in with the Blue Jackets, Laine was much more upbeat.

"Haven't been here for very long, but it starts to feel like home. Being here by myself in a temporary house is not ideal, but that's the way it is right now. Try to adjust," said Laine. "Can't thank the guys in the organization enough for making this as easy as possible for me. Everyone's been great, my teammates are awesome."

Jack Roslovic, who came to Columbus with Laine from Winnipeg in the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade, has cooled off after a hot start, and he was equally as blunt about his play, calling it "garbage."

"It's easy to say it on camera, but I have to be better," he told reporters.

Columbus is currently fifth in the Central Division, outside of a playoff spot. Their record is 10-12-5 in 27 games played.
