When it comes to wearing face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour said he's all for it.

“This whole wear one don't wear one makes no sense to me. If someone tells me something is going to help I'm going to do it. I've never heard a good argument against it," Brind'Amour told Sara Civian of The Athletic.

The Canes took a team photo on Saturday that included coaches and executives with everyone in attendance wearing masks. CDC director Robert Redfield has called cloth face coverings "one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus - particularly when used universally within a community setting."

North Carolina set new single-day records for cases (2,481) and tests (35,169) Saturday, the state's department of health and human services revealed. The state also recorded 23 related deaths. Nearly 98,000 people in North Carolina have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began, with 1,629 deaths as of Saturday.
