The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that their preseason games against Carolina and Nashville, scheduled for 9-28 and 9-29 respectively, have been cancelled due to the incoming Hurricane Ian.

Earlier today, long-time Lightning correspondent Erik Erlendsson reported that current evacuation zones include the hotel at which the club was boarding its out-of-towners, the Marriott Waterside.

Between the two bits of news, it is unclear at this time what becomes of Tampa's training camp; Erlendsson suggests Nashville as a possible destination for camp to resume, but in the same light, the team could also be forced to cut their camp short.

Hurricane Ian, recently formed near Grand Cayman, is en route to Florida's west coast. Ian is expected to reach Category 3 status upon landfall, and some are saying the damage could be catastrophic.

Let us hope not.

Recently, Hurricane Fiona devastated the Canadian Maritimes, leaving thousands without power.

Some homes along the coast were swept into the sea.

Not that we need recent reminders to take these storms seriously, but recency bias of a hell of a drug.
