Juuse Saros says he's good to go after injury kept him out of 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs
The Nashville Predators were already in tough when it was revealed they had to face the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they had to do so without starting netminder Juuse Saros.
Saros suffered a lower-body injury during Nashville's third-last game of the regular season on April 26th against the Calgary Flames.
The 27-year-old told NHL.com's Emma Lingan that he is good to go and ready for the upcoming season, with the Predators opening the 2022-23 campaign with a pair of games in Czechia against the San Jose Sharks. Saros added that it was frustrating getting injured right before the playoffs.
He added, "It was frustrating. We were kind of waiting for those (postseason) games to come, and (I got) injured right before that. Obviously, that was super frustrating."
The Forssa (Finland) native had a strong 2021-22 season, which earned him a nomination for the Vezina Trophy. In 67 games, he had a 38-25-3 record along with a 2.64 GAA, a .918 save percentage and four shutouts.
