St. Ivany, 23, was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round in 2018, but failed to sign an entry-level contract with them and became an unrestricted free agent on August 15th.
The Manhattan Beach (California) native just completed his four-year collegiate career which he split between Yale and Boston College. This past season was an impressive one for St. Ivany. In 34 games, he put up 24 points (four goals, 20 assists), six penalty minutes and was a plus-eight.
The Penguins have signed college free agent defenseman Jack St. Ivany to a two-year, entry-level contract.
The contract will run through the 2023.24 season and carries an average annual value of $950,000 at the NHL level. https://t.co/tuyM4dPNrs Pittsburgh Penguins (@penguins) August 20, 2022
