Patrik Laine seems to love playing the Dallas Stars. If it were up to him, he'd play them in all 82 games of the season.

After a 5-1 win against the Stars Tuesday night, the Winnipeg sniper was asked why he seems to have so much success against this one team. He has three goals in three games against the Stars in 2019-20 and 18 goals in the last 16 games against the club.

"I wish we played 82 against those guys, I'd have a lot of goals," Laine said with a smirk. "It seems like it just goes in. Don't have any explanation but, well, thank God they are in our division. I'm laughing."

Despite dealing with multiple injuries, the loss of some key defensemen in the offseason, and the absence of Dustin Byfuglien, the Jets are 2nd behind the St. Louis Blues in the Central Division right now. Sportsnet Analyst Brian Burke recently said if he had to pick a coach of the year at this point in the season, he'd easily select Paul Maurice given Winnipeg's success in the face of adversity.
