It was announced by the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday that Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will miss the team's home-and-home this weekend against the Vancouver Canucks as he recovers from a procedure on his hand. The Oilers have not elaborated on the details of the procedure, but he is expected to return to action sometime in the next week.
Hopkins suffered the injury last weekend, in a thrilling match up against the Vegas Golden Knights, where he picked up an assist in the win.
Nugent-Hopkins has been a key piece to the Oilers' early success, and has arguably been their best two-way forward this season. He has 16 points in 25 games, and leads the team with a plus-seven giveaway/takeaway ratio.
