Nikita Zaitsev's problems at home are growing more bizarre by the day.

Earlier this year, we reported that Zaitsev and his wife Margarita, who have been married since 2015 and have two children, were divorcing and the wife intended to make sure that at least a third of Zaitsev's income would go toward child support.

Earlier today, Ren.tv found out that Margarita had informed the police that people sent by her ex-husband broke into her apartment, assaulted the babysitter and kidnapped the children. She claimed that the children were being hidden from her by her ex-husband's father.

Ren.tv then reached out to Igor Zaitsev, Nikita's father for a response, and received an earful. According to Igor Zaitsev, it was his son Nikita who came to take away his children, since his ex, pending a court's decision, did not allow him contact with the children. The incident was captured on video which Igor alleges was handed over to the police.

"My son came, saw that the children were being looked after by some unknown woman and decided to take them away" said the senior Zaitsev. "The police have been give [video] materials, showing how she (Margarita) is abusing one of my granddaughters, how she is taking drugs, how she is having intimate relations with an unknown man while the children are around."

All this occurred at some point during the last weekend. Nikita Zaitsev missed last Friday's game against the Rangers and the team acknowledged that he had gone to Russia on a personal matter. Zaitsev was back by Monday and in the Senators' lineup as they faced the Blue Jackets.
