Jeff Carter is set to hit two major milestones tonight as the LA Kings take on the Vegas Golden Knights at the Staples Center. This will also mark Carter's 500th game as a member of the Los Angeles Kings, and his 1000th career game overall. He will become the 11th player from the 2003 Draft Class to reach the milestone.

Carter was selected 11th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2003, and quickly became one of the most consistent goal scorers in the league, having only four seasons where he didn't score at least 20 goals.

He went on to play in 461 games with the Flyers, recording 181 goals and 343 points. He also appeared in one Stanley Cup Final with the club in 2010, which saw the Flyers lose to the Chicago Blackhawks.

In 2011, Carter was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Jacub Vorachek, a first, and third round pick. He only went on to play 39 games with the Blue Jackets before being traded to the Los Angeles Kings for Jack Johnson and a conditional pick.

Carter had immediate success with the Kings, helping them beat the New Jersey Devils for their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. The Kings saw success once again in 2014 where they beat the New York Rangers to capture their 2nd cup in three years, and Jeff Carter played a big role in that cup, scoring 25 points in 26 games; just one point behind Anze Kopitar for first in the league.

Carter has recorded 370 goals and 712 points in his career so far.
