While the Colorado Avalanche are staying tight-lipped about the nature of the injury to their captain, at least one person says he believes he knows what the issue is. All the Avs will says is that Gabriel Landeskog has a lower body injury and is out indefinitely. AJ Haefele, who is the Editor-in-Chief for DNVR Sports, says he's been hearing Landeskog has a broken foot, and he has seen the 26-year-old wearing a walking boot.

If this is indeed the case, Colorado is likely looking at four to six weeks without their captain, depending on how bad the break is. The loss of Landeskog for any amount of time is a tough pill to swallow. Last season, he produced career highs in goals (34), assists (41) and points (75) while also being named to his first NHL All-Star Game. Up to the point of his injury, Landeskog had played 11 games this season, registering three goals and four assists.

Meanwhile, Colorado's Mikko Rantanen remains week-to-week after twisting his ankle during a game just over a week ago.
