Kirby Dach's trial at the NHL level is over. He is now a full-timer, to stay with the Blackhawks through the end of the season.

Too young to go to the AHL, the 'Hawks still had the option for another three games to send Dach back to his juniors team. But considering the sorry state of their rebuild and the impression Dach has left after his first six NHL games (1 goal, 1 assist, and solid play all around), the 18-year-old #3 overall pick of the 2019 NHL Draft will stay with the big club for the rest of the season.

Dach is in a relatively small club. Just four players, all from the 1st round of the draft stayed with their teams out of training camp. Jack Hughes (#1), Kaapo Kakko(#2), Ville Heinola(#20), and Nick Suzuki(#28) are the others.
