For the 2nd consecutive Chicago game, Blackhawks defenseman and alternate captain Brent Seabrook will be a healthly scratch. It will be the third time in his career that the 34-year-old will be left on the sidelines when not injured, and he didn't mince any words when reporters asked him about it.

"What do you think? It's not fun, sitting out," Seabrook told reporters Tuesday.

Seabrook added Chicago head coach Jeremy Colliton has had no conversations with the veteran about scratching him, other than to tell him he's sitting out.

"There is no conversation. He just told me, that's it," said Seabrook.

The 34-year-old has another two seasons left on his contract after the current one ends. It carries an AAV of $6.875 million, which would be a tough pill for many teams to swallow. That said, Seabrook insists he has a lot to offer.

"I don't think I need rest. I think I feel great, I'm 34, you guys seem to want to write articles about my age and my speed. I feel like I still got a lot to offer in this league and still be a good player for somebody."

The mention of "somebody" is interesting. Seabrook has a no movement clause in his contract, but it's starting to sound like he's willing to waive it if the Hawks could find a deal to move him. The AAV will make that difficult, though unless Chicago is willing to retain salary in order to make it happen. An NMC means Seabrook cannot be put on waivers for the purpose of being sent to the minors.

Forward Zach Smith will also be a healthy scratch for Chiacgo again Tuesday night as the team takes on the Nashville Predators. He's currently making $3.25 million.
