The Colorado Avalanche have announced their captain, Gabriel Landeskog, is out indefinitely with a lower body injury. He had played in all 11 games this season, registering three goals and four assists and is tied for third in the NHL with two game-winners.

There is no word at the moment on when, exactly, Landeskog suffered the injury.

Landeskog is in his ninth season with the Avalanche, having appeared in 590 career games. Last season, he produced career highs in goals (34), assists (41) and points (75) while also being named to his first NHL All-Star Game.

Avs star forward Mikko Rantenen is still week-to-week after twisting his foot during a game about a week ago.
