The Nashville Predators have locked up star defenseman Roman Josi for the next eight years. According to Sportsnet, the new contract carries an AAV north of $9 million. Josi also gets a full no-move clause in his deal.

Josi's current contract will expire on July 1st of 2020. The 29-year-old had been making $4 million per season for the last seven years. Josi has only ever played for Nashville, the team that drafted him in the 2nd round in 2008. With this new contract, it looks like there's a good possibility he'll end his career there as well.

According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the new contract will make Josi the third highest paid blueliner in the NHL, behind Erik Karlsson and Drew Doughty.
