Former NHL 2nd round pick, Ty Rattie has signed a one-year contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL. This signing comes less than a week after Rattie was placed on waivers by Lokomotiv Yaroslavl; a decision that came as a surprise to many, as Rattie has 3 goals and 9 points in 16 games so far this season.

Rattie spent parts of six seasons with the Edmonton Oillers and St. Louis Blues, putting up 30 points in 99 games, but most of his North American career was spent in the AHL, where he recorded 179 points in 268 games.

He became an unrestricted free agent this off season after the Oilers chose not to extend a qualifying offer. The 26 year opted to sign a one-year contract with Lokomotiv on July 9, 2019.

Rattie will join fellow Canadians, Charles Genoway, Quinton Howden, and Paul Szczechura on Torpedo, who are currently 6th place in the KHL West.
