Ottawa forward Nick Paul had a hell of a game Sunday night as his Senators defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-2. The 24-year-old, who's still searching for a regular role in the NHL, netted two goals and added an assist in his sixth game of the season. Before Sunday night, Paul had one assist in five games. So what was different this time? According to teammate Brady Tkachuk, Red Lobster.
"He was outstanding, Tkachuck told reporters in a post-game interview. "He's going to go the Red Lobster every night from now on. He went there last night. Don't want to say it, but he had a tough stomach this afternoon. But I think he's got to do it before every game now."
If loading up on seafood and pasta is the key to his success, we're sure Paul will have no issue sticking to the plan. He may want to make sure he has a fresh pack of Tums on the bench during each game, though, just in case.
Meanwhile, San Jose's Erik Karlsson continues to stumble when facing his old team. He was a minus-4 against Ottawa Sunday night, and was on the ice for all five Sens goals. He put up a goose egg in the points department.
