The Senators did some minor wheeling and dealing Saturday, by sending AHL F Jack Rodewald to the Florida Panthers for the rights to their former 6th round draft pick F Chris Wilkie.
Rodewald, 25, was one of the top players of the Sens AHL affiliate in Belleville, scoring 23 goals with 24 assists in 59 games. He's also had a couple of call ups to the big club, totaling 10 games without picking up a point.
Wilkie, 23, who chose to go the college route after the draft, first enrolling at the University of North Dakota and then transferring to Colorado, remains unsigned, clearing up another spot for the Sens in terms of overall contracts, as they stand at 48 of the max 50.
