Toronto's Auston Matthews had to spend some time in the quiet room Friday night as medical officials monitored him for any signs of a concussion following a hit from San Jose's Brenden Dillon. There was no call on the incident, which happened in the 2nd period, and Matthews would return in the 3rd and finish the game. You can see the hit below.

According to Sportsnet's Luke Fox, Dillon apologized to Matthews when he returned.

"You want to be physical on their good players," Dillon said in a post game interview. "You never want to see a guy get injured like that. I was happy to see him come back in the third. I said 'I didn't meant to catch you like that,' but at the same time, you gotta be hard on those guys, they're such good players. I just said 'Yeah, sorry for catching you there.' I'm never trying to injure anybody, that's for sure. It was a quick bang-bang play, and it was nice to see him comeback."

Matthews and Toronto ended up getting the last laugh, as the Leafs downed the Sharks 4-1 with the help of two empty net goals.
